Spin-on Filter Installation

How to install FilterMags on spin-on filters.

1. Wear safety glasses.

2. Install two FilterMags on each spin-on filter opposite each other near the threaded end.

3. Re-use FilterMags by sliding them off the old filter and snapping them on a new one when the filter is changed.

4. Never attempt to pry off a FilterMag with a screwdriver and risk damaging the magnets or housing.

Installation on Plastic Cartridge Filters

How to install FilterMags on a filter canister housing.

1. Wear safety glasses.

2. Install two FilterMags with a band clamp on the plastic cartridge filter housing opposite each other near the threaded end. Wear safety glasses.

3. The FilterMags need to be firmly secured to the housing, but don’t over tighten.

 

How to change the filter.

1. Remove the FilterMag if necessary for clearance.

2. Remove the cartridge housing, and clean out the particles trapped by the FilterMag.

3. Replace the filter and replace and tighten the cartridge housing according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

4. Reinstall the FilterMag.

TM360 or TM180 External Installation
Automatic Transmission Fluid Pans

How to install FilterMags outside of an automatic transmission pan.

1. Wear safety glasses.

2. The TM360 or TM180 are extremely powerful. Leave it in the box until installation.

3. Decide where to place the FilterMag externally on the bottom of the pan. There is often an indent where the factory magnet is located. Near that indent is a good location.

4. Grasp the TM360 or TM180 by its edges and slowly move it towards the desired location. It will snap to the pan with considerable force.

5. The TM360 or TM180 can be repositioned by sliding it on the pan.

6. Don’t remove the FilterMag between fluid changes.

7. It is not necessary to remove the FilterMag during fluid changes.

8. Never attempt to pry off a TM-360 or TM-180 with a screwdriver and risk damaging the magnets or housing.

GP101 Internal Installation
Manual Transmissions and Differentials

How to install a GP-101 inside a differential housing, transfer case, or manual transmission.

1. Wear safety glasses.

2. The GP-101 is extremely powerful. Leave it the box until installation.

3. The GP-101 can only be installed internally during servicing when the steel cover is removed.

4. Decide where to place the FilterMag on the inside of a cleaned steel manual transmission or differential cover. Find a flat spot away from any moving parts.

5. Grasp the GP-101 by its edges and slowly move it towards the desired location. It will snap to the pan with considerable force.

6. The GP-101 can be repositioned by sliding.

7. Never attempt to pry off a GP-101 with a screwdriver and risk damaging the magnet.

FilterMag Limited Consumer Product Warranty

We warrant this FilterMag to be free from manufacturing defects for a period of one year from the date of purchase for SS Series and MC, MB and TM Series products. All implied warranties are only valid for the same periods. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

At our discretion we will repair or replace, at no charge to you, any FilterMag found to be defective in materials or workmanship within the specified coverage period. This warranty does not apply to damage from improper handling resulting in damage to the plating of magnetic surfaces. This warranty does not apply to damage resulting from accident, abnormal use, misuse, abuse, neglect, or failure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions. We specifically disclaim all warranties whether implied or expressed when FilterMag consumer products are used in commercial or industrial applications.

We will not be liable for damages whether incidental, consequential or otherwise, resulting from a defective FilterMag. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
